Did you know?
1) ….95% of the World’s Heliskiing and Catskiing takes place in British Columbia, Canada?
2) ….that you don’t need to be an expert to go Heliskiing or Snowcat skiing? If you can confidently ski intermediate terrain, you can go.
3) ….that it can be as cheap as $200 per day, or that the “sky is the limit”? There is a price point for all budgets.
4) ….safety is the #1 priority of all Helicat Canada members? Prior to heading out, you will be trained to use backcountry equipment, and what to do to keep yourself, and your fellow group members, in a safe environment.
5) ….that you can stay in a remote backcountry lodge full of character and charm, or that the most luxurious accommodations exist? All you need to do is choose.
6) ….that the better your fitness level is, the more enjoyable your trip will be? A few more squats, and a couple more miles will ensure your legs won’t be screaming at the end of the day.
7) ….that most Helicat Canada operators will provide you with the latest “fat boy” skis, which make skiing in powder almost effortless? The guides use ‘em….you should too.
8) ….that there are one-day trips available, as well as multi-day trips?
9) ….that all HeliCat Canada members are committed to the concept of sustainability of the sport through choices regarding environmental, social, and economic impact?
10) ….that every Helicat Canada member is committed to showing every client the best skiing and riding that British Columbia has to offer.
What are you waiting for?

You’ve decided that this is the year. You’ve talked about going on a Heliskiing or Catskiing trip for years, and you’re finally going to do it. Now...... how do you go about it?
A bit of research will go a long way towards helping you make up your mind. You’ve already found the #1 resource for information – the Helicat Canada website. From this site, you can access all 17 Heliskiing operators, and the 15 Catskiing operators that are members of Helicat Canada, an association that holds its members to the highest levels of safety standards.
You have a few things to decide:
1) How much time do you have?
2) How much money do you have?
3) Do you want to go Catskiing or Heliskiing?
4) When are you interested in going, or do you have particular dates that you can only go?
5) Are you going by yourself, with another friend, or with a bunch of skiing buddies? All options are possible.
Look on each member’s site to determine which operation is the best for your particular needs. Send them an email, give them a call, or contact your favourite travel agent or tour operator. They’ll walk you through each aspect of your chosen operation, and advise you on your travel plans.
